Competition Overview

THE TEFLON™ DIAMOND STANDARD AWARDS

The Teflon™ Diamond Standards Awards is a national competition designed to acknowledge & encourage excellence in the catering industry and in the home. This event reaches out to all children, young catering students & keen home cooks who have a passion for cooking.

Established in 2012, the Awards quickly assumed a prominent position, attracting the attention of a prestigious group of sponsors and partners. This interest has grown year on year and we are delighted to have the competition become an annual calendar event.

Open to home cooks and students anywhere in the UK, the course is arranged by the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and Teflon™, Chemours and managed by The Bournemouth & Poole College.

We are offering the winners in all three categories the chance to win some great prizes.

For students, this is potentially a life changing opportunity to receive a three-year Specialised Chefs Scholarship, training to become a fully qualified chef. The scholarship is divided into two categories; work based training with a chef member of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts at one of the finest hotels or restaurants in the UK and full time block release tuition at Bournemouth & Poole College.

Then, for the home foodie who may not have any plans to go to College, take a look at this exclusive prize for you and a loved one perhaps.

A team of esteemed judges chaired by Lesley Waters will choose their Regional Champions from online entries, inviting them to attend the national cook-off.

Simple Entry Process

Online based, we ask each participant to submit their recipe ingredients and method along with a photo of their cooked dish via the Enter Now form.

Deadline for entries is Friday 15th November 2019.

Our judges will take all the submissions and shortlist their top 12 for the Aspiring Student Chef and Keen Young Cook categories and top 24 for the Keen Home Cooks category. These finalists will be notified by email and invited to cook at the National Final.
