Plum & apple crumble

"I like rustic traditional dishes, but also like to cook in season. A crumble just speaks out autumn! Baked pasta dishes are comfort food this time of the year."

Ingredients

  • 3 Bramley apples 

  • 3 sticks of fresh forced rhubarb 

  • Caster sugar 

  • Plain flour 

  • Porridge oats 

  • Soft light brown sugar 

  • Butter 

  • Ground ginger 

  • Flaked almonds 

  • Demerara sugar 

Method

  1. Place cut up apples and plums in a pie dish, sprinkle with Demerara sugar...and a squeeze of lemon juice.

  2. To make crumble topping place flour in a bowl and rub butter into the flour, add sugars, oats, flaked almonds and granola. Pile on top of fruit. Bake for 40 mins or so.
